From July 25 to August 1, 2023, the DAH Theater participated in the international festival Summer shipyard in Frankfurt, in the production of PROTAGON, organized by the AntagonAKTion Theatre.

Created for the open space along the Main River, the Festival is dedicated to promoting performing arts to a wider audience in public spaces.

We ran a two-day CROSSING workshop on July 29 and 30 at the Antagon Theater, which focused on tolerance, cooperation, trust and equality in theater techniques. With about 20 participants, we are looking for answers to the question: How to turn disagreement into dialogue, refusal into cooperation, fear of social changes into a creative act through theater?

We performed the play twice. TERRA, July 27th and 28th and two lectures 25 GLASSES OF WINE, July 30th and 31st. TERRA performance connects gardening, land (lat. TERRA) with stories about migrations and settlers. 25 GLASS OF WINE is a lecture-performance in which the director uses autobiographical texts to talk about the work of the theater group and challenges in the historical political context of "a country that no longer exists". After both performances, we stayed to talk with the very attentive audience, heard their impressions of the performances and answered their questions.

On the outskirts of the festival, we had an inspiring meeting with members of Antagon TheaterAKTion and Protagon who organized the Festival, sharing their experiences and ideas about the role of contemporary performing arts in society today.

The project was made possible by the program Cultures Moves Europe funded by the European Union and implemented by the Goethe-Institut.
