ACTIVISM
"The art of DAH Theater is critical, activist, professional and feminist. It raises questions about positions of power. It is against national domination, socially engaged and examines power relations within the public-private sphere at the level of the family, society and state." - Staša Zajović, co-founder of Women in Black, Serbia.
Human rights, tolerance, non-discrimination, gender equality
DAH Theater has been maintaining a permanent thread of resistance since 1991 until today, and since its inception has collaborated with feminist-activist groups (Women in Action, ACT Women), and among the main collaborators are Women in Black in Serbia. The goal of this cooperation is the resistance to war and violence as well as the culture of denial on the one hand and the empowerment of women and the building of lasting peace on the other.
Cooperation with feminist-activist organizations
"Unlike most indifferent artists during wartime and their escapism these artists chose to share the same values with us and get involved in our many activities." – Staša Zajović, co-founder of Women in Black, Serbia.
Street actions and protests - Theater performances and touring the region with performances - Conferences and meetings - Workshops and talks with women - Creation of a network of women from different women's organizations
Each of these actions aimed to make women more visible, their voices more audible, helping to finally break the denial of the crimes committed in our name and thus begin the healing process, strengthening the presence of women in different positions in our society.
