FATE - Academy of the Future on tour in Europe - aims to create a connection between newcomers - refugees and migrants and EU citizens through artistic training, inclusion and increased employment in the cultural sector. The aim is to create interest in the employability of talented/professional creative migrants and to ensure that they have equal opportunities on the labor market in the cultural sector, compared to local artists and creative professionals. [2020-2022]

With the support of the Creative Europe program of the European Union, five international partners are joining forces and their expertise in the project FATE: ZID Theater - City Art & Performance Center (Netherlands), Atalaia/ TNT (Spain), Social Community Theater Center/ University of Turin (Italy), DAH Theater (Serbia) and Studio 7 (Germany).

GOALS

Developing, testing and documenting training methods for "new players" - ie. professional performers and producers with a migrant and refugee background who want to pursue a professional career in the arts in Europe. Creative professionals with a migrant and refugee background have limited opportunities to find work in their professional field in new countries. The partners believe that it is the "destiny" of these people to stay in Europe and that they should be enabled to participate fully and sustainably in the cultural life of their city, region, country and continent.

Sa FATE- we want to ensure that creative young people with a refugee or migrant background can equally participate in the professional sector of art and culture, both on stage, behind the scenes and within organizations. Various studies have shown that the participation of these young people in the professional sector of art and culture in Europe is still very limited. With this project, we support our mission to make art and culture accessible to everyone, both locally and internationally.

THE RESULTS

After two years in the joint process, the partners achieved different creative results: performances with migrant artists "Dreams on a journey" TNT/Atalaia [Spain] and "No fear" ZID Theater from Amsterdam [project leader] . Also, two smaller productions related to the theme of the project: the play " Terra" Breath of the Theater from Serbia and " CianCa” Studio7 from Germany.

In the final phase of the project, conferences will be held in each partner country, where the results of the work will be presented to the general public and organizations dealing with issues of art and migrants. The methodology used in the project will be published in FATE Handbook. Digital platform FATE will enable professionals, participants, partners and policy makers across Europe to access the knowledge and methods developed in this project.
