FOR YOUR OWN GOOD

A play inspired by children's rights. It is based on the articles of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child, specifically Article 3 of the Convention: "All adults should act in the best interests of the child. When adults make decisions they should think about how their decisions will affect children."

The initial research for the play was done in cooperation with young people without parental care within the framework of the SOS Children's Village Foundation. The right to education, the principle of non-discrimination, according to which all children and young people should have the same rights regardless of race, sex, language and religion, the fight against child exploitation and the rights of children with developmental disabilities, are just some of the problems in our modern society.

Using the structure of fairy tales and their deconstruction, the play explores the problematic side of the world we live in, with the idea of raising awareness about the rights of young people and children, but also to inspire and motivate us not to turn a blind eye to the violation of these rights and to work together to create the conditions for their application.

The performance "For your own good" is part of the project Rights4Kids which DAH Theater realizes with partners from Italy (Fondazione Aida and ATTI Theatrical Association), Greece (AeroplioTeatar and Action Sinergy) and the Czech Republic (Performalita).
