ARTIST-IN-RESIDENCE PROGRAM

AIR

Artists of various disciplines (theatre, performing arts, dance, media arts, music and writing) groups, collectives and individual artists and cultural workers from all sectors from all over the world are invited to apply. We support great diversity in nationality, age, gender or artistic discipline of our candidates. Applications are open to individuals or teams.

The concept of the residency means providing an opportunity for international exchange in a creative environment. It aims to encourage creativity through direct contact with professionals from DAH Theater and the local community, artistic public, local artists, cultural institutions, curators, art historians. To deepen mutual understanding and cultural exchange between artists in residence.

Our goal is to support artists by providing them with time and space where they can develop their work, think and share their ideas, visions and working methods.

Also, we want to provide an opportunity for artists to become part of the networks that make up the contemporary art scene locally and internationally.

The residency can be used for project development, for concept research, for researching the artistic and technical feasibility of a certain idea, post-production of an audiovisual work, for rehearsals or for testing a work in full production.

When I was offered to work with DAH Theater, and after spending three summers at their school, I again found myself among artists who are dedicated, experienced and politically aware. These three qualities have become the main ones for me ever since I first entered their theater in 2009, and are most likely the reason why I feel at home every time I come. The great passion, love and knowledge associated with the work of this group, as well as the spheres of conversation in which I constantly find myself: European politics, engagement and the great need for art, created the need to not only spend more time in their environment, but also to exchange my work with people who inspired me so much.
