ANGELS MEMORIES
A play for open spaces that changes under the influence of the time and space in which it is played. Three actresses as angels explore contact with the audience in a street situation looking back towards the 20th century. [1996]
Three actresses as three angels are mediators between people and ideas, heaven and earth. Angels are fallen angels cast on earth in times that require humans to take sides, which angels cannot do. They remember their different lives on Earth and live on the fragments of their shattered memories. Memories of dark times, memories of the shows they played as artist angels, memories of all of us. They are the bridge between the worlds above and below.
They sing, listen to opera, play parts of their plays, dance and mourn. They speak an angelic language that can only be understood by the heart. They give love. At the same time, they warn people and call them to wake up because without people they do not exist.
Who is crying now somewhere in the world, who is crying for no reason in the world,
He's crying because of me.
Who laughs now somewhere in the night, who laughs in the night for no reason,
He's laughing at me.
Who now goes somewhere in the world, who goes around the world for no reason,
He's coming towards me.
Who now dies somewhere in the world, who dies for no reason in the world:

"After the play Remembrance of an Angel, in the world-famous Belgrade theater DAH TEATAR, since ten minutes had already passed since the three angels with all the earth in their feet left the performance venue in the courtyard of the Veljković Pavilion, three spectators wondered aloud: "And will they come back?" We asked them who they were waiting for the angels to return to us, the already frozen spectators, well after midnight. They were a second-year architecture student, a freshman in high school. A real audience, with pure hearts and a fairy-tale world, a world of reality touched by the magic of theater play."
