YOU MUST BE A ZENITHIST!

Interactive stage/multimedia installation

Conceived for different gallery/museum spaces and reflects the legacy of an authentic avant-garde art movement from our area - Zenitism.

It points out the importance of continuity in the artistic traditions of a country and explores how they are today, exactly one hundred years after the magazine was launched “Zenith” Ljubomir Micić, echoes of Zenitist ideas both in contemporary art and in contemporary society.

The ideas of Zenitism - anti-war ideas, belief in the possibility of creating a new, more just society and relations are still important and necessary after a hundred years, especially in the modern moment, when faith in the possibility of creating a better world has been lost. Zenitism invites us to, inspired by the ecstasy of the artists of that era, turn again to the great values at the center of which is man.

This stage installation consists of three units, which represent the original works of artists who deal with the contemporary artistic response to the ideas of Zenitism.

In the first room, there are interactive screens with which you can get to know the artists of Zenitism. Scenes from the video of the play Zenit - The history of one passion DAH Theater, you can combine as you wish and create your own zenith story through interactive screens.

In the second room we meet a video/audio work and an installation by Snežana Arnautović and Ivica Stjepanović entitled Everyday room, which represents a kind of response to the idea of Zenitism, as well as the complete avant-garde, whose roots contemporary artists still rely on today.

An art object awaits us in the third room Cross-stitch, the work of Neša Paripović, which was used in the DAH Theater performance Zenit - the history of an enthusiasm. The atmosphere of the zenith movement in this room is complemented by video work For a better atmosphere Jelene Rubil, through whom we are introduced to Zenitist slogans.

The fourth room brings us the intimacy of zenithism, and there you can read Anushka Micić's last letter to Ljubomir Micić, which he found after her death. Also, there are original issues of the magazine Zenith, as well as Snežana Arnautović's audio/video work entitled Lucid Dream/Happy Time.

The opening of the exhibition is followed by the performance of four performers, who will introduce the atmosphere of the zenitist movement in a contemporary way and encourage thinking about whether this movement is still current, present, and finally: are the zenitists still among us?

We will have the opportunity to hear Ve Poljanski's poetry through original music, specially composed and sung for this exhibition. The gallery will also be visited by the inevitable Mayakovsky in a new body, and just like a hundred years ago - he has something important to tell us. If you haven't had the opportunity to read the letters of Anushka and Ljubomir Micić, this exhibition will bring you the most intimate experience of Zenitist love - one letter will be enlarged and read to everyone who indulges and sits in the Zenitist armchair. Throughout the entire exhibition, each visitor will have his own shadow - the mysterious Johnny Jepp, who leaves behind an indelible mark.
