ART AND HUMAN RIGHTS FESTIVAL 2025

Belgrade 10 – 13 June 2025.

THINKING PEACE

For the fourth time, DAH Theater's "Art and Human Rights" Festival opens the door to art that speaks, moves and unites.

Under the theme "Thinking peace", we gather creators from all over the world with a common goal - freedom, dignity, respect for human rights and the rights of all living beings. This year's festival invites participants and audience to think together not only about the absence of war, but the active presence of justice, human dignity, and positive peace.

Our festival will present artists from Montenegro, France, Greece, Croatia, Holland, Italy, Palestine/Czech Republic, Israel, North Macedonia, Nigeria, Russia, Syria, USA, Ukraine and Serbia, as well as films from Taiwan, Slovenia, Great Britain/Iran, China, Belgium/Hungary/Portugal.

PERFORMANCES, FILMS, CONVERSATIONS, INSTALLATIONS, EXHIBITION, CONCERT, WORKSHOP

Through various art forms, the festival asks questions: How to think peace in a world full of conflicts? How can art contribute to building a fairer society? How do we remember, face and heal through artistic expression?

In addition to the performing arts program, this year the audience will watch films, installations, participate in round tables and talks by artists and peace builders from the region and beyond, and see an exhibition. A youth workshop will offer creative tools for thinking about peace.

In a time of great necessary changes in our society, as well as in a global geopolitical context marked by wars, dictatorships and daily violations of human rights around the world, art has the power to open the way to empathy, solidarity and dialogue, which are irreplaceable features of social justice that leads to peace.

In the midst of the harsh reality of life under occupation, art remains our form of resistance and our voice that cannot be silenced.

We are all scattered around the world, in different geographies, with very different realities, so whenever we are able to overcome physical distance and come together in person, it is always deeply meaningful and precious.
