THE SECRET LIFE OF THE ARBORETUM

An environmental performance by DAH Theatre in the Arboretum of the Faculty of Forestry in Belgrade

At various points within the Arboretum, the audience encounters actors and dancers from DAH Theatre, along with audio and visual installations. These elements highlight the importance and significance of the natural environment, encompassing both nature and a sense of freedom and
connection with the community. The audience experiences scenes, installations, and performances at 15 locations, unexpectedly placed to encourage a different perspective on the environment.

CONNECTING WITH THE COMMUNITY

This environmental project was initially created for the Belgrade Arboretum of the Faculty of Forestry but is designed to be adaptable to various spaces and contexts. While maintaining its basic structure, it also offers the possibility of creating
new scenes specific to each situation.

The site-specific performance focuses on themes related to the community, the environment, and the relationship between society and art, raising community awareness about environmental care and protection and encouraging an active relationship.

The primary mission of this project is to encourage community engagement in environmental care and protection, as well as the decentralization of culture. Therefore, it is designed to be easily implemented in small towns and smaller urban communities
(such as Detelinara in Novi Sad).
