Project of the Ministry of Culture “Serbia within Serbia”

Kultura u p(re)okretu!!

The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, together with local administrations, initiated the project “Serbia within Serbia” with the intention of initiating and reversing the cultural environment of Serbia. DAH Theatre recognized the importance of the project and applied to perform the play “The Story of Tea” and the children’s play “Two Grandmothers, Four Cats and a Scooter” in Serbia, in order to support the intention of the Ministry of Culture to change the existing centralized approach to cultural content and replace it with a new one, embodied in a decentralized cultural network.

DAH Theatre’s idea is that during 2010, the play “The Story of Tea” and the children’s play “Two Grandmothers, Four Cats and a Scooter” will be performed in cities throughout Serbia in order to present their work in new environments and to establish mutual cooperation.

DAH Theatre has successfully implemented the project “Serbia within Serbia.”

The children’s play “Two Grandmothers, Four Cats and a Scooter”view more was performed in August 2010 in Soko Banja, Lapovo and Vlasotince in front of several hundred enthusiastic people and children, with exceptional success and received high praise from both theater critics and the audience.

The play “The Story of Tea” was performed at the Kruševac Theatre and the Knjaževsko-Serbian Theatre (Kragujevac) with great success in December 2010.
