DREAMS AND OBSTACLES
The form of the performance “Dreams and Obstacles” is an experiment, i.e., a combination of autobiographical performance and work demonstration, and deals with the theme of “becoming” an artist. It follows the development of a dream and its realization on stage. Through the personal stories of artists, the historical events of our country are refracted, which influence and change the course of development of young performers, and in that combination of personal “small” and official “big” history, they “become”. During the two decades of its existence, DAH Teatar has created its specific style and way of working, which is based on the transfer of knowledge, constant professional development, and “learning to learn”.
An important goal of this performance is to raise awareness among the audience about how history affects our most personal lives and how important it is to take responsibility. This DAH Teatar performance also aims to reveal part of the creative process in the theater, and thus direct interested artists to some different techniques of making a performance, as well as to interest the audience in new theatrical forms.
The play premiered 27. and on December 28, 2012, at DAH Teatar.
Texts used from DAH Teatar performances: KOD Nastasijevića – Stanislav Vinaver, Momčilo Nastasijević; Crossing the Line – “The Female Side of War”; The Story of Tea – A.P. Chekhov “Three Sisters”; Invisible City – Zuzana Halupova; Gently Gently Gentler – parts of texts from the songs of the musical groups Ekatarina Velika and Šarlo Akrobata were used.
